The 2011 American Business Awards attracted a record number of entries, with more than 2,800 from organizations of all types and sizes across the U.S.A. These entries were reviewed by 80 professionals in preliminary judging, and their average scores determined the Finalists. Stevie Award winners were selected from among the Finalists by the average scores of the members of 10 specialized final judging committees.

In total, more than 200 professionals participated in the 2011 judging process.

The awards were presented during ceremonies at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City on June 21, 2011.  The ceremonies were hosted by Cheryl Casone of Fox Business Network and broadcast nationwide on radio by the Business TalkRadio Network.

The key objectives of the Smiths Interconnect website redesign project were to route potential customers to the appropriate brand/company quickly using a clean, clear, concise look and feel, and also to inform investors about the company. Making its target market feel confident in the company’s technology expertise and global capability was also an important goal for the project.
